| GUSTAVE BAUMANN: FRAMED AND UNFRAMED WOODBLOCK REPRINTS |
Gustave Baumann was one of the foremost American
printmakers of the 20th century. Born in Germany in
1881, he emigrated to the United States, where he
trained at the Art Institute of Chicago. He was inspired
by European woodcuts, developing astute
craftsmanship over many years. He moved to New
Mexico in 1918, where he lived until his death in 1971.
